As an Advocate Leader for The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, I had the honor of standing alongside 124 incredible ovarian cancer warriors from 37 states in Washington, DC, sharing our stories of survival at the U.S. Capitol.
It was a powerful and emotional day. This fight is deeply personal for me—but it’s also so much bigger than my own story. We were there for the 1 in 91 women who will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. We pushed for earlier detection, better treatments, and meaningful policy change. More than 120 OCRA Advocate Leaders came together for Advocacy Day, amplifying our collective voice in meetings with Congressional offices. Together, we rallied support for critical legislation to improve access to genetic testing, boost research, and increase investment in gynecologic cancer awareness and education programs. I’m so grateful to stand with such a strong, inspiring community—turning our stories into action and hope for the future. |
